Yes, it certainly was. A year that was somewhat normal, yet there is comfort in that due to, I don’t know, a little pandemic that we’ve been still dealing with. There were a lot of things that I wanted to do this year, as I have been wanting to do every year yet, I never get around to most of them because of the vagueness (example: become a better person; like okay, but what do you mean) or just plain laziness which, for sure, I am not the only victim of. My time here was sort of incomplete with the pandemic cutting my freshman year short and taking away the entirety of my sophomore year—at least it’s a unique shared experience (perhaps it isn’t unique if it is shared), but I digress. There have been many things that I have been able to learn, a lot of those things being academic related. However, that isn’t what I want to discuss in today’s blog post.   Something that I have been able to learn in this year of high school (really, it’s more of a culmination of all the years i spent in high school) is how inconsequential some things are in relation to the future. His songwriting is incredibly heartbreaking, and it never fails to make me shed a tear. Truly, if I ever need to have tears on command, I just think of Glimpse of Us and here I am, sniffling and crying about the past lover I never had. It’s hard for me to choose a favorite out of all his music, but if I had to choose one right now for this blog post, it would be Run . 𝙰𝚞𝚍𝚎𝚗  ╚═ ═ ═ ═ ═ ═ ═ ═ ═ ═ ═ ═ ═ ═ ═ ═ ═ ═ ═ ═ ═ ═ ══.✾. ═╝ Folks 👏 When I read the quote above, I was like ,“YES.”  I   feel like a lot of others would agree with this as well. Since when has poetry ever not been obscure?          I always believed that I disliked poetry. Ever since I tried for that one poetry competition in 9th grade and utterly failed… it’s safe to say that poetry had gotten on my bad side. And the reason for my dislike was how hard they were. All the figurative language coupled in with the beautiful diction—as I read those  seemingly English words to myself, I found myself thinking, what the heck am I reading?      ...
